Why do you shun me for who I am?
FOR I AM MAPLEPAW of the great AspenClan
Age 10 Moons. Gender She-Cat// Female. Rank Apprentice.
How can I hide in the shadows of the unknown?
WHEN MY PELT IS A soft dust color dappled with hints of orange tabby, and my eyes are a gorgeous leaf green.
Scars Not old enough to have accumulated any yet. Appearance Complicated but delicate Maplepaw stands between the two traits. Complicated implies that she is sewn together by very different tints of pelt. A almost gray dusty tinge seems to cover her flank only to lighten up in the spots that have more of a flame like brindle to them. Part's of her body also have flakes of a fairly mocha colored brown. All of this is only accented by the hints of white that float in what seems to be the most fitting areas. These areas consist of her chin, part of her chest and even a bit more on her spindly legs. Her legs are in fact smaller but this tends to help with her tendencies to sprint. Maplepaw is fast when needed and it would appear her legs would help but with the lengthened mane and scruff she has covering her body it can tend to slow her down a bit. Although her speed may be off, her balance is definitely not. Maplepaws hobbies mostly consist of hunting. meaning she strives to get better and better at it. Balance is just a genetic trait for her and it comes naturally to climb trees and hop from limb to limb. Coming easier to her then most cats this seems to be it. Her tail is the main topic in this subject of balance. Her tail is a least a inch longer then the average cats and can sometimes be picked out as a abnormality at birth. For her she has learned to use it as a strength rather then a weakness. It helps her leap from limb to limb with out falling effortlessly to the forest floor. All in all this cat a lean but muscular build.
Why do you judge me for what I’ll become? JUST BECAUSE I’M sweet AND headstrong.
Personality Maplepaw truly embodies her name. When you think of Maple what comes to mind? Syrup, trees and other sweet earth like qualities. Maplepaw in a whole is that sweet tempered soul but has a bitter bite when brought to her edge. The feeling of syrup rolling over your tongue with the sweet sticky taste of joy brings you to a ultimate nirvana. In relation to Maplepaw she has the same effect on everyone she comes in contact of. As she pads to your side, smiling and asking, “How has your day been?” you just know your day is about to get even better with her smile leading the way. Her sweetness is soft and radiates softly also. Instead of beating you to say hello and loudly stating her opinion she rather stay close in a quiet manner. This almost gives her a reputation of being to shy, but really she just prefers to get to meet you on both of your terms. In a way she rather see effort even out on both sides to become acquainted. This shows that no one wants to be more attached then the other. She approves of mutual feeling and she will let you know. Even believing this she is one to contradict herself. Maplepaw clearly has a hard time hiding emotion. If she is upset over a situation and wants you to know it will be clear, even if she is trying her best to keep it all in her head. Along with this fault comes the fact that she can get over emotional and very headstrong in her own beliefs. The she-cat easily befriends and gets attached to her peers and tends to stay closely in groups. The reason for this being that clearly her biggest fear is being alone and having no one to confide in. At those times where she can’t find the ones who are there for her the most she hunts. It’s a hobby and a joy she keeps to herself but that would be why it’s harder to find her around camp. This would show that she is a big contributor to the fresh kill pile. Now comes the bite you find in the real syrup, where your expecting a sweet manner you find that little tang of it’s originality. Maplepaw is as explained before very sweet. Yet, being as headstrong as she is comes with faults. She always follows and is loyal to her clan. If anyone were to assume of her otherwise or insulted this moral she would definitely snap. This also means she can have a bad temper with some things and tends to get in to deep with situations. In a way this may be a good thing though seeing as how being loyal is what being a clan cat is all about. Preferences
Likes// Kits Hunting Loyalty Starclan Autumn True Warriors The Science of a Medicine Cat's Dream Moon Cycles Peace How Birds Can Fly
Dislikes// Disloyalty Rogues Annoyances Hunting Mistakes Bickering Judgement Spring The Cold Fighting Death
Secret Ambitions Maplepaw's ambitions very, but in her life it is known she wants to have a family. Love is important to her and having a mate and kits is a big part of her hopes and dreams. Even if this is true though the next closes thing to her heart would be her Warrior-hood. Maplepaw's soul dances even when thinking about finally becoming a Warrior who can serve her clan as loyal as possible. She also wants to have peace between all clans. Her life goal and what she believes to be her reason of existence is to help all cats come together in harmony. Fighting is not her forte. Strengths/Weaknesses
How am I punished for what my kin has done?
EVEN IF MY PARENTS ARE Heatherwisp AND Quickshadow
Family Heatherwisp // Mother Quickshadow // Father Twistedpaw // Brother Miragepaw // Brother Event that Lead to being a Warrior Maplepaw has not yet had the honor of becoming a Warrior. History The first time Maplepaw saw the light of day she was amazed. Being born had been the most amazing experience she has had yet. Being a Apprentice she has yet to encounter much else in such a confusing world. As a kit she was always wondering off and not attending to what ehr brothers or mother had in mind for events that would take place in a day. All this little kit wanted to do was to seek nature and see what was in store. Her brothers seemed more interested in other things and even though Maplepaw loves her mother dearly she just couldn't stand being smothered and told how to behave. Maplepaw is headstrong and being cooked up even as a kit bothered her extremely. She was always trying to inch out of the nursery and would often get in trouble. She still to this day loves her family but at this point would rather find out what the world has in store for her life. Some days she wonders how her brothers are doing and if she should check up. Since it has been so long since they had actually said more then two words to each other she tends to get nervous that they stopped caring and assumed she was being overly independent. Other then this her life has been good, growing up in a normal Aspenclan environment, being told that they were known for their agility and speed. This had caused her to concentrate more and more every day on her ability to hunt faster and climb more efficiently. Now she is just waiting to see what is around the corner as always. Sample RP
Lights, florescent spots shining through her pink eyelids startled her. The veins appeared naturally and she began to see the green globs appear in her mind. One way or another she would have to wake up in order to free herself from the headache that would soon fill the brim of her skull. Maplepaw debated weather she actually wanted to take the energy to get up or if she would just slide her head in another direction away from her pest of light. Mornings... Maplepaw usually sprang up for nice days like this. The sun shining through the cracks of the den and the breeze only floating in to keep her from overheating in her long pelt. She was more then a morning person, it was what she lived for. The dawn would follow her to the entrance and would lead the way to where she would start to hunt in the manner she like the most. Mornings were best for hunting and any skilled cat would know a fact like this. In all reality prey were just realizing the night is over and it is time to return to their small burrows or shrubbery. It was the perfect chance for Maplepaw to spring on such meals seeing as how they would be worn down from the busy night before and wouldn't see her coming so early in the morning. A problem arrose in her head as she opened one eye and stared at the bracken wall in front of her. The den was well built and it clearly showed, but this wasn't her concern at the moment. Her eyes flicked to the entrance, and to her horror it was to late. It had to be what, about two hours past dawn? This was devastating to Maplepaw you must understand. She jumped up, claws ripping through the earth and she darted out of the den almost leaving her body behind her in the same spot she had slept in the night before. "How can I be so stupid? Staying up like that last night to look at the moon. And, what for? It is just all so ignorant!" Maplepaw spat at herself and continued padding toward the entrance. Her green gaze twitching from the fresh kill pile to the cats who were adding to it. She was embarrassed to know that some of them actually got up earlier then her today. Her mind flew over the night before. How late could it have possibly been to make her daze off with out realizing she had to sleep. In fact Maplepaw remembered the last thing she had spotted in the sky before her eyes had gently caressed her lids and pushed her into a slumber. The vision was as clear as day, a twinkle from the star a bit to the left of the moon. The moon had been bright and shone amazingly, but for some reason remembered the dazzle of that one star. She paused before she hit the entrance for a moment and tumbled the dirt below her pads with her claws. Possibly, this could be Starclan. Maplepaw shook the idea out of her head. She didn't know even possibly anyone who could be in Starclan that was close to her. Brain still buzzing away she bounded through the entrance and climbed the first tree she thought she would easily be able to scout for birds in. Leaping upward her dusty tail thwapped in strategised motions to keep her balance. Huddling in a crouching position on a thick branch close to a nest she stood, waiting and watching for the first, but late kill of the morning.
You call me by the name I’ve lied I meet in secret with those who’ve died Though life is not’ but treachery This life is all the life in me
