ELIJAH
Forks of lightning struck the raging seas, almost knocking Elijah into the cliffs as he tried to cling to the seabed. Even with his sharp claws, as the violent ripples churned up the sand. His eyes closed to keep out the sand, but eventually he found himself drifting backwards through the water. With a whip of his tail, he swam toward the bank and clawed his way up the sand. For a moment he paused, looking around with the sea dragging at his tail, for a place to go. Rain pounded against his thick, hard scales as he moved toward the SoulClan camp, his snout sniffing the air hungrily for the scent of warmth. His keen senses picked up one thing; cats, and he decided that he would pay a little visit to Gazelleheart and Adderpaw.
As he clawed his way toward the camp, he found a herd of horses, and caught one that was straying as a gift if they were hungry. Well... He didn’t know if they ate horse meat, but whatever. He was hungry too. The camp came into sight and the massive grey-scaled Alligator moved his way into the camp, dragging the horse with him. Growling as a fork of lightning struck a nearby tree, he crawled into a tall building near a pile of big stones; the Leader’s den, and lay staring out at the storm. Elijah hated storms; they were loud, disruptive and made the sea fill up with rage and such power that it would often claw him off of the ground. Even so, he didn’t know who was in this den, so if there was some cat there, he hoped-... Well of course he would frighten it! It wasn’t every day some huge Alligator crawled into your den! Hopefully Gazelleheart would clear up any misunderstandings, but there was no way he was going back out in that storm.

Padding through the forests with curious-filled eyes, the sleek black apprentice could hear his breath clearly in his ears. In, out, in, out he breathed, as the familiar strain without his brother seemed to irritate him. Crowpaw and Ravenpaw... one was rarely seen without the other. And Ravenpaw needed to be by his brother's side... he was strengthened by it. The familiar brush of his brother's pelt was incredibly comforting- he craved it. But he had to face the facts some day, and he was going to have to get over his timidness sooner or later. You can't be with him all the time... he admitted to himself, and he sighed as he continued.
A loud rumble souunded above him, and the sensitive tom jumped at the sound. Where in StarClan's name is Crowpaw? He was getting ansy now. The rumble sounded again, louder, and Ravenpaw quickened his speed as his casual walk turned into a faster trot. His heart quickened as did his breathing, but he couldn't hear his breath now. All he could hear were the cries of the sky above him as the storm began to rage. He had to get to the camp, and quickly. Hopefully Crowpaw would be somewhere nearby.
Heading in with a full sprint, Ravenpaw bolted into the clan, jumpy. His amber eyes darted around as he searched for the cat that looked just like him. The gentle tom sighed before running in to each den, making sure. Ravenpaw and Crowpaw had gotten into some serious trouble in their lives, and Ravenpaw wouldn't be surprised if his michevious brother was lignering in the leader's den. So with a hopeful grunt he headed in, searching for his double.
The black tom was hopelessly disappointed to find his brother not there. The leader wasn't there either. Ravenpaw wimpered, deciding to head to his own den, at least to be with someone else. But, though he didn't find his brother, he did find someone- or something- else as he turned to exit. For there, in enterance way, was the most breathtaking creature he'd ever seen. A large creature with gray scales and a blood-covered maw barred his only exit, the creature's shallow eyes. Ravenpaw felt like fainting, but he took a deep breath. There was no getting to Crowpaw now. There was no getting to anyone now. The giant hump of scales stood in the way from the black tom and the rest of the world.
"H-Hello, sir," Ravenpaw said in his calmest voice possible, which was surpisingly calm, giving the circumstances. The apprentice couldn't help but notice the large, dead horse laying nearby. The horse that was nearly three times the size of the apprentice. Ravenpaw gulped. "I'm sorry if I interrupted something... I'm Ravenpaw, it's nice to meet you... uh..." With absolutely no idea what to call the beast, Ravenpaw just left it hanging, his auburn eyes darting around as he waited for the creature to respond.

Enjoying the brief and fleeting break of sun. Having been sprawled out along the heated face of the Sunrise Shore stones. Leaving his joints regrettably stiff when he decided to rise. Shoulders rolled beneath the sleek lamination of his pelt. Stout muscles contracting and expanding beneath the tapestry of grey and black stripes. Sauntering around the pathway leading back to the SoulClan domain, a sort of euphoria seemed to haze the lithosphere, putting him into a lull that barely left enough attention to keep his direction straight.
Eventually his stroll succumbed to an end. Having led himself to the leader’s den absent mindedly. It wasn’t until a rightfully unfamiliar scent stung his nostrils that any suspicion arose. Triangular ears perked erect, swiveling and pivoting atop his head as feline muscles coiled beneath his skin. Poising himself with suspended energy, in the event he would need to apply a sudden surge of it. Bright auburn eyes stumbled across a scene that potentially required just that. Ebony pupils contracted into thin slits, an expression of shock and partial alarm. Which was induced not by the sight of the scaled heap, but the clan member adorned as an apprentice that unraveled his nerves. Failing to notice the deceased equine cast thoughtlessly aside, he bound forwards. Unraveling his coiled muscles, thrusting himself forward and gaining the necessary altitude to avoid touching the reptile as he leapt above him.
Each individual digit extracted its claw, embedding each nail into the fine sod of the den floor. Hurling himself forward in a catapulting manner and then screeching to an abrupt halt positioning himself between the unknown reptile and young apprentice. Instincts enveloped him; the warrior objective of protecting his clan forced him to place his own well being in front of the kits. His back turned to Ravenpaw and his front bearing towards the scaly creature, shielding Ravenpaw from site. Ear lobes flattened against the top of his scalp, neck bunching in a defensive manner and spine arching in the feline defensive posture. Leaving him coiled for the option of either advancing or retreating. The alarm was quite called for considering the young presence of Ravenpaw and the unfamiliar face of an alligator. However he refrained from snarling, keeping his alarmed position but managed to utter out in unamused throaty tones ”Might I help you?,” he inquired, taking over the engaging conversation the creature had with Ravenpaw. His tail lashed with anticipation, staring down the other with a calculated sense.

ELIJAHWhere were the cats? The den smelled strongly of them, but at the same time he couldn’t see any, but perhaps that was because it was so dark. Well, sure, Elijah was able to see in really dark water, but it was different here; his eyes dried out a lot faster. He was about to brave it again and find another den, but he decided against it; drag a dead horse into a den full of young cats, or even the females with their little snappers? No, he couldn’t scare them like that. That would probably enrage the entire camp. He would just have to wait for someone to find him. He knew cats couldn’t hurt him; his scales were way too thick, and if a cat tried to claw even his eyelids, they would probably end up tearing a claw than his skin.
However, as he prepared to move deeper into the den to search, the strong scent of cat met his sharp nose and he turned his entire body to face Ravenpaw. The Apprentice seemed frightened by his presence; was this one of the young one like the Adderpaw he had met before? For a moment, the grey-scaled reptile lifted his voice to speak, but it came out as a half-hissing sound. Well, he couldn’t stop his accent, no matter what he did.
“I am Elijah,” the Alligator said, in a slightly awkward growl, but in the tongue of cat. “You have not interrupted. Sea is treacherous, very angry. I cannot stay there in storm. I stay here.” Well, if any cat wanted to tell him otherwise, then they could try, but they would probably be defeated. “But thank you for having the good sense to be frightened.” Suddenly a second cat appeared - one he didn’t know. Tilting his head, he grabbed the horse in his jaws and dragged it over to them. His short, thickly claws dug into the earth as he turned to face the two cats again.
“Food for your Clan... It is... Horse,” Elijah blinked, stretching his jaws to imitate chewing if they didn’t understand. “In return for temporary stay, but not sure if cats eat horse meat. May find it hard to eat, I help.” Spinning around quickly, he locked his freakishly huge teeth into the horse’s flank and tore out a chink of meat and dropped it at the cats’ paws.

Ravenpaw managed to sit his shaking figure down as the beast came closer. It's not going to hurt you... it's all right... he told himself, but he couldn't imagine what he was saying was true. Maybe if he remained polite enough, the thing would let him out? Elijah was its name... it seemed kind enough- merely avoiding the storm. And yet it killed a beast that can kill you... Ravenpaw quietly unsheathed his claws, but let them dig into the soil. It wasn't that he wanted to dig them into the alligator's skin, for he knew that the creature would undoubtably win in any fight, but he was rather holding on to the earth that would keep him in balance.
The beast told him that he was good to be scared, but this hit Ravenpaw the wrong way. Good to be scared? I've never heard that before, he thought as he sized up the creature who was coming closer. So he tried to be brave, in a sort of defiance against Elijah. What good was being scared, especially when you were trapped by a hungry alligator with a giant dead horse in its mouth? Ravenpaw shook off his fear, and it surprisingly worked, though he didn't speak yet. He'd wait to see what happened first.
Suddenly, a figure darted in front of him. The black apprentice was relieved to see that it was a cat figure, and he instantly recognized it as Induzo. The apprentice had always liked Induzo, and he was especially glad to see the warrior now. Something in the warrior's firmness and readiness to defend the clan, even though he was loner-born, inspired Ravenpaw. Induzo's firm yet polite nature was a gift in this situation, and it rippled off into Ravenpaw as well. Hopefully they'd both be able to persuade the beast to move.
“Food for your Clan... It is... Horse,” Elijah said. The words, though sharp, seeemed to rub a comforting hand across Ravenpaw's nerves, and he relaxed his figure, though his claws were still in the earth. He stood, his slender black form nearly invisible in the shadows of the cave. All Elijah wanted was to bring them some food, and in turn they'd have some shelter. Still, it seemed a little odd that he'd scare Ravenpaw like that... and the apprentice wasn't so sure about eating horse meat. But he figured that he should respond non the less.
"Thank you, Elijah," Ravenpaw said, his voice more firm this time. "But I think the rest of the clan would enjoy it as well. Could you maybe back up a bit and let us out?" It was firm, though it didn't match the quality of Induzo's voice, but it was strong enough. Ravenpaw had to get out of here now... the walls seemed to be caving in on them, and Crowpaw was yet to be found. Doing Speaking Thinking "Your cat talking"

He’d heard of the creature before but had yet to encounter it. Given the weather situation he was not as leery as prior, capable of putting the circumstances that drove this creature indoors into perspective. Giving an attentive nod as the creature mangled it’s words together in an explanation of it’s being. Allowing the tension that drew his form rigid to unravel and bring him into a more relaxed and engaging composure. Raking his gaze across the partially mangled equine carcass curiously, he’d admittedly not dined on such meat but assumed a carnivore is a meat eater of all sorts. Being subjected to a slim selection of prey due to his size would not keep him prejudice towards trying new dining options. ”That was very kind of you. I don’t believe we have encountered one another before. My name is Induzo, a warrior in this clan.,” he made light with these trivial introductions. His tone taking a more neutral pitch. However he maintained heightened senses due to the fact an Apprentice was among them and he was required to keep this kit well tended.
Backing up in a non confrontational way he re positioned himself alongside Ravenpaw. Allowing his shoulder to graze the others in a comforting fashion, sensing the unease in his clanmate. A reassuring throaty purr was issued, something only the most sensitive of feline hearing would manage to tune into, it was a faint attempt to install a sense of security to Ravenpaw. One ear swiveling towards the kit as it spoke with a little more assertiveness. Something he commended the other for, given the situation it was quite remarkable for Ravenpaw to conduct himself with such assurance, something he was given credit to. Induzo had a weakness for Apprentices and kits, feeling more overprotective and obligated to tend and ensure their well beings.
However he imagined it to be quite the uncomfortable situation for the feline. Giving an attentive nod before he spoke ”If you’d like you, you might go and inform the others of this generous donation,” he suggested passively to Ravenpaw, not giving an order, only an opportunity to depart if the Apprentice did not feel his nerves could stand it any longer. Looking once again towards Elijah a simper drew across his lips, an easy smile that suggested more light heartedness than before. ”What bring you to such parts?,” he inquired, only meaning to solidify his theory that the creature was simply attempting to secure shelter for itself.[/verdana]
