The white tom sat atop the hill overlooking the reflection pool, his breaths slow, yet deep. Curling his tail around his paws, Wisescar ran his serene blue eyes over the body of water, admiring its beauty. There wasn't anything else like it in AspenClan territory. Nothing else gave him the sense of peace like the reflection pool did. He took in another breath, then headed down toward the pool in a slow, casual stride. There was no need to rush the journey. Plenty of other wonders lay between him and his destination. Such as the chirping of the birds. It was true, his clan hunted them, but they had a mesmerizing song, a song unlike any other. He perked his ears upward, listening to them chirp away as he continued his stride toward the pool.
As Wisescar came upon the shore, the tom saw a white lily in full bloom, alone, yet very much alive. It was heartwarming to see. Padding over to the lily, he inspected it curiously. The whiteness of its petals reminded him of his mother's white pelt. He smiled softly, remembering her scent. It had been sweet and gave off an aura of caring. Then he remembered her voice as she sang a lullaby to him and his brother.
"Under this night, close your eyes," the white tom sang softly. "Under this night... I'll keep you alive."
