Why do you shun me for who I am?
FOR I AM Smoketail of the great SoulClan
Age 33 Moons Gender Tom Rank Warrior
How can I hide in the shadows of the unknown?
WHEN MY PELT IS gray and my eyes are gold
Scars Only one scar can be seen on this tom’s body, a jagged one on his right foreleg’s shoulder. It’s fairly large, the remnant of an attack by a hawk. Appearance
Smoketail is somewhere between lean muscle and bulky muscle, giving him a rather average appearance with short, soft gray fur covering his entire body. There aren’t any very distinguishing marks about the tom, his fur being nearly completely solid in color, although his underside is a slightly lighter shade, as well as his mouth and nose. The soft pink found on many cat’s noses is also missing on him, his nose being instead a darker gray color than his coat, resting beneath a pair of golden eyes that most often be found closed in sleep. His muscle mass is bulkier in his hind-legs, giving him the power to jump and leap great distances, while leaner muscle is in his forelegs, giving him less pure power there. His tail’s fur is a bit longer than the rest of his coat but not really long enough to qualify as “long”. That tail is often the only thing you’ll see of Smoketail, and normally only when he’s leaving.
Why do you judge me for what I’ll become? JUST BECAUSE I’M shy AND impulsive
Personality
Smoketail never really liked being the center of attention. He doesn’t like leading others-he prefers following them, and is happiest when he has been given an order. Not that he can’t think for himself, he can and he does, he just doesn’t like responsibility, perhaps because one of his biggest fears is of failing another. It’s the same way with approaching others-he would really rather not, and is in fact quite shy, and odd enough trait in a tomcat. Often times he’ll put off doing something just because it requires him to talk to a cat he doesn’t know very well, or one that he holds in high regard (and then, by the mere fact that because he respects that cat he avoids them like a plague). This facet of his personality has, perhaps, made him more of a negotiator and more patient than many SoulClan cats, known for their tendency towards action first and questions later. He is impulsive, if it doesn’t require too much talking. He’s likely to just do something without thinking about it, something that’s gotten him into trouble often enough. He’s a very good listener and will listen to someone ramble without once drifting his attention, which means he learns quite a bit about the going ons of the rest of the Clan, even if he doesn’t immerse himself in the conversations themselves. It can be quite surprising to another that he already knows a piece of information, as a result, since he’s rarely seen actually talking to anybody. Or seen at all, for that matter, since he seems to be most content when he’s hidden away from view.
Preferences Smoketail loves watching others and eavesdropping. Maybe that can get him in trouble, but it’s how he gets most of his information and he likes being up to date. He doesn’t much like being drawn into the conversation though, preferring just to be a bystander. Secret Ambitions Smoketail really, really wants to be less shy. He actually hates stumbling over his words when he has to talk to someone new or someone who his is in awe of. Strengths/Weaknesses Smoketail isn’t very good with responsibility and as such is a much stronger follower and weaker leader. He’s also an amazing jumper/leaper/climber, although speed and strength are merely average.
How am I punished for what my kin has done?

Event that Lead to being a Warrior A completed apprenticeship History
Coldclaw and Stripewing, by rights, never should have met. Stripewing, a warrior of SoulClan, came across the white she-cat on a patrol one day. She didn’t belong to any clan, though she claimed to be a loner by choice. She managed to convince Stripewing to visit her every now and then, in return for her not trespassing on the Clan territory and he foolishly agreed. Nobody had ever really commended Stripewing on his prowess at thinking and he really was something of a dim cat.
Coldclaw was a cold hearted cat and her entire purpose in seducing Stripewing had been to have a large, strong kit who would be easily manipulated by her. She got that kit-two in fact-but she also got a smoky gray kit who was more like her in body size. She didn’t even bother to name the kit, and when she gave it to Stripewing when he arrived. The tom was confused, but she didn’t bothering to explain anything. She chased him off as he held the kit awkwardly and then disappeared with the other two kits, never to be seen by the father of her kits again.
Stripewing, meanwhile, had to explain his actions when he returned to his Clan with a kit. He may not have been the brightest, but he was smart enough to recognize that if he came up with a story of his own he wouldn’t have been able to remember it and would have gotten tripped up. He was certainly not a good liar, but perhaps his honesty worked in his favor. Maybe it also had something to do with the fact that the rest of the Clan knew he wasn’t all that good at thinking ahead about his actions, too.
The little gray kit was named Smokekit, both because of the color of his fur and because his mother had disappeared like smoke. One of the nursing queens agreed to nurse him as well, and surprisingly enough Stripewing made a good father. He was very attentive, even to the point of, when the young kit had wondered out of the nursery and a hawk swept down on him, the tom managed to rescue his kit-along with killing the hawk. Even still, as Smokekit grew it wasn’t possible to hide the circumstances of his birth-the mere fact that his father didn’t have a story to tell him and the fact that his father was not with whom he considered to be his mother. He was secretly ashamed of the fact that he was descended from a cat who could do something like that and he tried to prove-to others, but mostly to himself-that he was nothing like her.
His apprenticeship moons were spent learning as much as he could from his mentor but he spent little time trying to make friends. Perhaps his shy personality was a part of him from birth, or perhaps he developed it along the way, but whatever the case was he was shy and there seemed to be little he could do about it. At least it didn’t stop him from doing what he was supposed to do, however, and Smokepaw managed to pass into warrior status and became Smoketail.
