A slight ruffle of wind. A soft patter of paws, gently tapping the hard, warm ground. Whiskers twitching in frustration. Eyes narrowing into slits as muscles extended, pushing themselves to their very limits. Claws, stretching themselves forward to score endless furrows into the harsh, unforgiving earth.
Blueflame finished executing her current move, then collapsed onto her side, flanks heaving and dripping with sweat. She blinked slowly, waiting for her breath to return before hauling herself to her paws to once again practice her battle moves. She lowered herself into a crouch, slipping forward silently. One paw in front of the other.. And now! Her hindquarters bunched beneath her and she pushed off, shooting forward just a few inches off the ground. Her forepaws stretched forward and claws buried themselves into the dusty earth, momentum swinging her hips around her. She twisted and let go of the earth, and her torso followed her haunches. She swung around like this for a few seconds, then tightened her muscles as she landed on her back, swiftly flipping herself up high and over, landing on an imaginary opponent. A deft twist of her forepaws and she was done.
The slim blue she-cat stepped away from the scuffled earth, dragging her tail along the dust to smooth it out. She cleaned her ruffled, sweaty fur, twitching her tail with a yawn. "Let's see.. another move...." She thought through all the ones she needed to do, and decided on one she still was perfecting.
The she-cat stepped forward a few paces, facing off with her "opponent". She suddenly reared up and flipped all her weight backwards, performing a smooth backflip. Her hind legs kicked out harshly to slam into anyone that rushed her, and as he haunches landed softly on the ground, she threw herself forward, tackling the 'enemy' that would have been tossed backwards. She rolled several times, dragging the imaginary enemy with her before twisting beneath them and kicking free to leave them upside down and breathless. She twisted around them and leaped up into the air, bringing long, sharp claws down to slash their stomachs.
With a sigh, Blueflame flopped onto her side. It didn't feel right, using these moves on her imagination. She needed a reall enemy, a real oppoent, to practice her battle moves on. She could easily train with a friend, but she had no one to call friend, or even to trust enough to show them her secret talent. She hated fighting... Ever since that day that she'd killed.... And now, here she was, developing her skills to sharpen her killer instincts. She was such a hypocrite.
"I despise myself." She whispered, her voice echoing off of the massive walls of the drop canyon. "I hate how I can kill with such ease, perform such smooth battle moves, and yet hate myself for killing. Why do I practice my killing moves if I refuse to use them?" She twitched her whiskers, her blue eyes closing for a moment. She stretched herself out in the sun, letting the heat soak into her. It was a nice, clear afternoon. Soon the rains would come and she'd be alone with the shadows of the cold and the wet....

A cream tabby stripe/swirl tom padded through the Drop Canyon. His original plan was to hunt for the clan, but his attention was caught on a rustling. The rustling was way to big to be any sort of prey he could hunt. He tasted the air for the scent, but nothing was out of the normal. Until the wind blew and he saw he was upwind.
The tom went into a stalking crouch. He slowly followed the rustling sound through the undergrowth that the canyon lacked a bit. He started to worry, what if a badger or fox for some reason was up here or even a sharp tooth. He pushed his fears away and crept to the sound. His fears slowly faded as he saw it was no one nor nothing he should be afraid of. It was one of his clan mates, Blueflame.
The tom sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws and smiled as he watched his clan mate. Oh boy was she strong and an enemy should fear. Her fighting moves were talented. His ear flickered to what she said next.
He crept forward and stood beside her and smiled. "You don't have to kill. Just warn them with pain. We don't have to be killers. Don't despise yourself when you've done nothing wrong," Creekpelt mewed. "Sorry if I invaded your privacy, I was up here hunting and heard something that wsn't prey and wanted to make sure it wasn't something dangerous. Then, I saw your very talented moves. They are very impressive."

Blueflame flicked her whiskers as a creamy swirled tabby tom stepped out into her line of vision. She'd heard him a few moments before, her ears angling toward him now as she saw the smile cross his face, the... awe, excitement... in his eyes. She pushed herself to her paws as he began to speak, expecting to be scolded for not using her talents in a battle, rather, hiding out here to use them on nothing. Her claws slid out at his first words, but as he continued, it was her turn to be surprised.
"I-Impressive?" She stammered, suddenly unsure of herself. All she'd ever known was hatred and spite, all she'd ever been was looked down upon, treated badly for the games she played with innocent toms. She abruptly whipped around and bolted, managing several steps before she forced herself to stop, slim legs trembling. "Um.. thanks." She whispered, padding back silently to him, calming back down. She'd tried to run earlier, because she didn't want to hurt him. She knew that if she spent any amount of time around him, her games would begin and he'd get emotionally hurt. She didn't want to screw with his head. No, not like other toms. Other toms could handle it, or deal with it, because they weren't sensitive enough to see past her rough exterior.
"No, don't worry." She assured him, smiling a little. "I was getting a little lonely anyway." Her eartips twitched as she thought about what else he'd said. She lifted her gaze to meet his, lingering there for a moment before looking away toward the shadows. "Are you sure that I'm not something dangerous?" Her voice was barely a whisper, but it was there... "And you aren't going to ask me why I don't use my... impressive moves on the battlefield?" She mused, her whiskers flicking.

"Your, very much, welcome," Creekpelt chuckled as she backed up and then, came back over. He sat down on his cream pelt and wrapped his semi short tail around his paws. He smiled at Blueflame. He knew of her games with toms, but at the moment he was being polite, but he wouldn't lie to himself and say he liked her a little more then friends, nor would he bring it up to her.
"Well I'm glad I came along to keep you company, Creekpelt said in a friendly manner. "If you choose to not use certain moves, it's no concern of mine, your still a great warror. Your choice of moves are for you to pick and not for another cat to tell you. Also, I saw your moves I know your dangerous, I just don't think your a danger to your clan nor to I," He growled in a playful manner. "Unless you think your so dangerous and beat me."He mewed the playful challenge. He smirked at Blueflame. He stood onto his paws again, to be ready if she takes the chalenge.

Her ears flickered toward him for a moment- he was being so nice to her... She hadn't had a tom be this friendly in.... well, since she was an apprentice! I could have a friend.... She thought. Someone who understands that I'm dangerous, but not a threat! She heard these words come straight from his mouth, and felt like grinning and laughing and spinning around.
She squashed these feelings, instead dipping her muzzle to him, the corners of her mouth flicking up into a smile. "Unless you think your so dangerous and beat me." Was that a challenge? Haha, it is a challenge! Look at him, he's getting ready for me to defend my pride! She dropped forward into a crouch, her eyes glittering happily. "Oh, I think I'm dangerous enough to beat you. I might not be as strong as you, but I'm quicker!"
She darted forward, her forepaws landing lightly beside him. Her hindquarters shifted round so that she could support herself while she leaped up and over Creekpelt, dropping her forepaws to grasp his shoulders tightly, flipping him to his side as momentum carried her to the ground. She slid away for a moment before popping back to her paws and preparing for a counterstrike.

Creekpelt let out a chuckle. He flickered his tail as he prepared for Blueflame attack." Then, we shall see wont me, Blueflame," Creekpelt teased. He waited for Blueflame impact, he knew there was very slim to avoid her first attack and he may have been taking it easy on her, but as soon as he felt the impact, he knew she was stronger then he thought a few seconds ago. He stood up on his paws. He quickly though over his plan and when he had it, he proceeded with it.
He turned around faster then normal. His eyes dart to her left shoulder as a target. He ran forward to wards Blueflame, but instead of going for her shoulder, he slide down when he was a tail length away. He slid until her was under her belly before launching up wards. He didn't push up hard, he didn't want to hurt her, but hard enough to knock her over. He backed away from Blueflame. His eyes on her and a playful smirk on his face.

Blueflame rebounded onto her paws as soon as her back touched the ground, using the momentum of the kick that Creekpelt had given her to bounce back toward him. She let the energy flow through her and darted forward, paws moving swiftly. She slipped underneath of him, skidding to the other side to leap over him and twist her paws down. As soon as her hind legs touched the earth, she pushed off, slamming into his flank and sending him spinning.
She smiled innocently. In the blink of an eye, she dashed forward toward him, leaping over him, high above the creamy tom. She stretched her paws out and hit a tree trunk, twisting to shove off with her paws and land beside Creekpelt, spinning over him to shove his muzzle against the ground. She leaned down to growl playfully in his ear, "Who's stronger now?" She teased, bounding away lithely. Her blue-grey fur glittered in the sunlight, sapphire eyes watching the tom.
"Don't worry, Creekpelt. You probably have less of a temper then me anyways." She smiled, letting out a soft purr.

Creekpelt felt himself spiining and then getting knocked into the ground. He sneezed as the dirt went into his nose when Blueflame shoved his muzzle into the ground. "Who's stronger now?"" Creekpelt let out a shutter of laughter when she playfully growled in his ear. He stood up onto his paws and shook the dirt from his creamy pelt. He turned his glaze to Blueflame and smiled. He strentched ot his creamy swirl pelt. He padded over to Blueflame and purred.
"I May have a better temper, but you are definity a better hunter then I! It's gonna be hard teaching Whisperpaw to hunt."" Creekpelt mewed. In all truth, the tom was smart and a good fighter, hunting wasn't one of his strong suits and probably never will be. He was very broad which made moving through the undergrowth harder from him. He let out a shrug. "Maybe, I can get someone to help me with that part of the training." Creekpalt smiled at Blueflame.
He playfully swatted at her ear and smirked at her. He sat down and wrapped his creamy tail around his paws.
